APOLLO BIO-FIN SERIES
A WINNING REPUTATION 1999 - 2007
Apollo was the first manufacturer to recognize the potential of the Natures Wing Split-fin Technologytm. Every major dive company now offers some form of split-fin. In a sea of imitators, Apollo's bio-fin series has contintually taken top honors. Every bio-fin submitted to SDM for annual review has rated "Testers' Choice". Test parameters now require that any fin submitted for annual ScubaLab review must be new to the test process. New fins will come and go. With eight consecutive Testers' Choice ratings, Apollo's bio-fin series is clearly the fin to beat.
SCUBA DVIING MAGAZINE TEST DATA: APOLLO FINS
5 = Excellent, 4 = Very Good, 3 = Good, 2 = Fair, 1 = Poor
2007: Bio-fin pro White C-series “Testers’ Choice”
Scores: Power vs stress (5), Stability (4), Manueverability(4), Acceleration (5), Fit & comfort (4), Alternate kicks (4), Surface swim (4), Donning/doffing (5),
Adjusting for fit (N/A1), Nonskid (4), Total adjusted ergo / objective scores2 Raw data: Speed 2.78 mph3, Thrust 40 lbs, Slalom 64 sec. Efficiency course4
Notes: 1This years data indicates that Adjusting for fit was considerd n/a
to fins with spring strap. Spring straps did qualify in 2005; bio-fin rated a (5).
2This years data did not include adjusted ergo and objective scores details.
3New speedometers were used for speed test. ScubaLab advised that the
equipment consistently recorded .58 mph under actual in which case the
recorded bio-fin speed of 2.2 was actually 2.78mph. 4Efficiency course
data was not included in article. source: scuba diving 11/2007
2006: Test was not held in 2006.
2005: Bio-fin pro Yellow C-series “Testers’ Choice”
Scores: Power vs stress (5), Stability (4), Manueverability(4), Acceleration (5), Fit & comfort (5), Alternate kicks (5), Surface swim (4), Donning/doffing (5), Adjusting for fit (5), Nonskid (4) Total adjusted ergo score (96/105)

Total objective score (19/20) Raw data: Speed 2.8 mph, Thrust 38 lbs,
Slalom 73 seconds1, Efficiency course 21 seconds
Notes: 1Slalom course was siginficantly altered from that used in 2004. This resulted in a high variance in completion time or all fins. source: scuba diving 10/2005
